Editorial Review - BookViral - 19th April 2024

A charming new addition to Julia Seaborn’s series, ‘Pippin’s Space Adventure’ sees friendly poodle Pippin blast off into outer space in another adventure, packed full of surprises and suspense.

In an interesting twist, Pippin meets some strangely familiar alien creatures on his action-packed trip, providing a sense of mystery for young book lovers and a chuckle or two for their adult readers.

Seaborn delights with her usual upbeat style, enthusiastic delivery, and absorbing narrative; her bright and cheery characters leap from the pages, complemented by Richard Holt’s well-executed and enchanting illustrations.

Despite being a beautiful book in its own right, Seaborn ensures that ‘Pippin’s Space Adventure’ is also a treasure trove of interactive educational resources, including fun facts, maths problems, colouring and questions designed to stimulate conversation. This theme runs throughout the whole collection, making the series a valuable set of teaching tools for parents and carers.

Such a wonderful book about space with sweet looking, but weird aliens, many adventures and colourful illustrations. My 4 year old girl who is a fan of space and I really enjoyed it. There are also some additional pages to engage the kids at the end of the book, such as questions, colouring pages and interesting info. Can’t wait to read other books in the series.

★★★★★  - Literary Titan educational review - 14 January 2024

Pippin’s Space Adventure by Julia Seaborn is a delightful tale that whisks young readers on an imaginative journey through the cosmos. The story follows the curious Pippin, a poodle with a passion for stargazing, and his friend Blossom the Possum. Each night, Pippin dreams of traversing the universe, leading to a dream sequence where he finds himself aboard a spaceship, accompanied by Jelly, a friendly monster.

Seaborn’s narrative is both captivating and educational, striking a balance between whimsy and learning. The adventure is filled with close encounters, like skillfully navigating through asteroid fields, which keeps the pace lively and engaging. This book’s charm is further enhanced by its vibrant illustrations that vividly bring the story to life, reminiscent of watching a cartoon. A unique aspect of this book is its educational content. Lessons about space, including the solar system, planets, and shooting stars, are seemingly woven into the narrative.

The book concludes with a thoughtful addition – a section aimed at testing the readers’ comprehension. This, along with a bonus coloring page, invites young readers to interact with the story beyond just reading.

Julia Seaborn’s Pippin’s Space Adventure is a charming, imaginative, and informative read that will captivate and educate young minds.

An adorable space adventure featuring Pippin the Poodle.
Pippin is looking at the stars and wondering what is up there in space when he falls asleep, awakening to find he is now floating among the stars. Meeting new friends and solving some action packed problems Pippin goes on a solar adventure to discover what that bright light in the sky really is.
The pictures in this book are absolutely adorable! They are fun and playful, and the accompanying fun questions at the end of the story turn them into wonderful engagement opportunities. Additionally the collection of space facts at the end build upon the curiosity of Pippin, and the information presented through the story.
A perfect story to get any young reader interested in space and the solar system.

Well, to be precise, This book has a good story line of space adventure but the better part is illustration. It is a USP, bright, clear and childish too. Whole story has information about solar system, space as well, but without academic burden. It is a wisely written book.

A beautifully illustrated space adventure about Pippin the dog, who longs to explore out of space- here he meets the cute, little pink alien Jelly. They fly through asteroids and meet a one, eyed green monster.
I really enjoyed this lovely book and so did my daughter :)
